Browns Hire Jenkins
Cleveland -- Von Jenkins signed with the Cavs and will also be the head football coach of the Cleveland Browns. Practices have not gone as Jenkins planned. The first team offense looked absolutely awful against the practice squad. However, the Browns defense looked really good. Jenkins is big on defense especially secondary. It will be interesting to see how the Browns fair in the first preseason match-up on the road against Detroit.

(New Orleans, LA) Von Jenkins has left Duke and is now coaching at LSU after Les Miles was fired for poor performance. Jenkins has won four straight national titles - 3 with Duke and 1 at LSU. LSU will play in its second consecutive national title versus Minnesota soon.
Von has decided to play basketball with the New Orleans Hornets. After initially signing with Lakers, Jenkins wanted to be traded to Hornets to be closer to family. Jenkins played one game with the Lakers and is now with the Hornets as well as Kim English. Jenkins is becoming very active in NOLA.
(update: 12/4/12)
Cleveland Cavaliers owner, Dan Gilbert, has pulled off one of his most daring personnel moves. Fox Sports Ohio is reporting the Cavs have successfully made a trade with the Hornets for Von Jenkins and Kim English. The Hornets may be getting draft picks and an undisclosed amount of cash.
What happens with Von coaching LSU? Will he stay in Baton Rouge or could he get a coaching job closer to Cleveland? Would Jenkins consider coaching on the professional level like with the Browns, Bengals or Lions? With Jenkins having played a few games with the Mariners, would he want to play for the Indians or Reds?
(Update - 12/4/12)
Cleveland -- Von Jenkins is excited for the opportunity to play for the Cavs. "I am honored that Mr. Gilbert has given up so much to get me here in Cleveland. During our conversation, I told Mr. Gilbert that I was still interested in coaching football and maybe continuing to play baseball. It is my desire to coach the Cleveland Browns. I want to see if I can play in the Indians organization. And most of all, I want to coach football somewhere closer to Cleveland. With that being said, after the national championship game with Minnesota, I will be resigning at LSU and looking for a coaching job closer to Ohio." Von Jenkins traded from New Orleans and deciding to leave LSU is an incredible turn of events for the state of Louisiana.
The Cleveland Cavs are currently 2-0 and with the acquisition of Jenkins have quickly become a playoff contender. Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller are young players with tremendous potential. Von Jenkins will play his first game as a Cavalier against the Milwaukee Bucks.

(Durham, NC) Duke University has shocked the world of college football going undefeated, 14-0. Duke grabbed its first ACC title since 1989 and first ever national title. First year head coach, Von Jenkins has transformed the mediocre Blue Devils into national champions overnight. Jenkins said, “This season has been an amazing ride! I can’t put into words how much this means to the coaches, players, and student body at Duke University.”
The national title game featured the #1 Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. #2 Duke Blue Devils. Duke absolutely dominated to a 31-0 win over Coach Colossus Crunch’s Golden Gophers. After the game, Coach Crunch said, “I can’t believe what happened out on the field tonight. At no point did we think coming into this game that we would get held scoreless. That is not to take away from the job Jenkins has done as Duke. Our kids should be very proud of themselves for competing at such a high level.” Minnesota won their first Big 10 title since 1967. Colossus Crunch has the Minnesota football program going in the right direction.
Duke is reaping the benefits of their spectacular season. Coach Jenkins was able to grab a 5-star WR, Josh Thurman, for the 2013 recruiting class. Thurman is 6’2 from La Vergne, TN and has been compared to Randy Moss and Terrell Owens as far as skill set is concerned. “We are very excited to have Josh Thurman coming to Duke. He has tremendous upside,” Jenkins told ESPN. Not only did they nail Josh Thurman in recruiting, Jenkins was able to convince Keith Marshall to transfer from Georgia. “I knew that I wanted to play for a contender,” said Marshall. “Coach Jenkins delivers championships.”
The Blue Devils are clearly the favorites going into 2013, but can Jenkins get his team ready. Some critics aren’t drinking the “kool-aid,” but that is why games are played on the field and not on paper.

(Philadelphia, PA) The Eagles are coming off one of the most disappointing seasons in history. After claims of being the "Dream Team," the franchise ended the 2011-12 season at 8-8. Philadelphia Eagles owner, Jeff Lurie, has publicly said, "the team must do better." The owner's comments were untimely as it appears that Andy Reid is on the hot seat. Reid had family tragedy strike during just recently with the death of a son.
There are tons of questions needing to be answered. Will Vick stay healthy? Will Jeremy Maclin develop into a dominate receiver? Will the defense be as good as advertised?
The Eagles made a few moves the last few days. Andy Reid and Michael Vick wanted to bring in Terrell Owens. T.O. looked good and the Eagles signed him to a one year deal. DeMarcus Van **** was brought in to bring some young blood into the secondary. Andy Reid told us, "The team is very excited to compete this year. This is the best I have felt in many years."
(Durham, NC) Duke hires Von Jenkins. Jenkins is very excited about the opportunity of what he described as "a chance to build a dynasty." It should be interesting to see if he continues to coach the defensive back at Duke like Nick Saban, Alabama head coach.
Von Jenkins Bio:
- Graduated at the University of Arkansas (Psychology)
- Played four years for the Razorbacks (2006-10)
- As a player, won two national titles (2007, 2009)

(Kansas City, MO) The Kansas City Chiefs have hired B. Hulsizer as their new head coach for the 2012 NFL season. Hulsizer looks to usher in a new era for a franchise that has a fair share of disappointment the last 20 years. Chiefs let go of Romeo Crennel today. Sources indicate a poor win-loss record as a major factor why the decision was ultimately made.
The bold move for Brian Hulsizer has sparked negative feedback from many media sources including Skip Bayless. Skip tweeted, "Another bad move in a long series of awful moves by the Chiefs. (Romeo) Crennel needed more time. Should have given it to him.
Monday, August 27, 2012
(Tempe, AZ) Arizona State has fired Dennis Erickson and replaced him with B. Hulsizer on a two year deal.

(Seattle, WA) Less than twenty-four hours ago, the Rangers halted a 22 game winning streak held by the Mariners. It didn't take long for the Mariners to get revenge. "We knew pitching let us down big and our base running had been questionable. My teammates and I wanted to show the world who really is the best and not some paper champion," Von Jenkins told Baseball Tonight analyst John Kruk.
It sure did seem a bit strange out their today with Seattle putting up "video game-like" numbers. Word to the wise, do not upset the Mariners.

(Seattle, WA) Pitching on both sides was very poor. Mariners found themselves with biggest deficit in second inning when Rangers were up 8-2. That lead would dissipate quickly with the Mariners grabbing a 12-8 lead. Jenkins and Griffey Jr. hit two homers each, but the Mariners still come up just short. "This one hurts as we lose to our division rival. We are in first place yes, but you never want to lose....period," Von Jenkins talking at press conference directly after game. This will definitely leave a sour taste in the mouths of Seattle's fans as the month of April comes to a close.
